It's the time of year that we can get wrapped up in gift-giving and receiving, and cooking and cleaning for family to get together. But none of that has to do with the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas began in the middle of the night thousands of years ago when an amazing thing happened. A simple, normal woman gave birth to a baby boy, that was the most special baby boy there could ever be - Jesus- a Savior for all. He would walk this earth for only a short time before he became the ultimate sacrifice to save each of us from our ugly sin. That's why I love this song. No matter where I am, I love to stop and listen to these beautiful words, and take in the emphasis of each word as I try to imagine what that night was like.
O Holy Night
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Savoir's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of HOPE, the weary soul rejoices,
for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall.... on your knees,
Oh hear the angel voices!
O night...
DIVINE...
O night, when Christ was born!
O night!
O holy night,
O night divine!
